Success in U.S. business

In my customized 1:1 intercultural training for entrepreneurs and executives, you’ll learn how to win American customers and collaborate effortlessly with American teams.

If you want your business to succeed in the U.S., there’s one thing you need to master above all else: the American way of doing business. You have ...

... American customers

Your product is a hit in your home market—but does it offer what Americans want? And how do you turn them into loyal customers?

... American business partners

You’ve built great relationships with business partners back home—but how do things work with partners in the U.S.?

... American team members

You’re a fantastic boss to your  team at home—but how do you lead and motivate American employees?

... an American location

You’re a successful entrepreneur—at home. But what does it take to make it big in the U.S.?

Do any of these sound familiar:

American customers seem interested in your product at first—but then you never hear from them again. You’ve discussed project goals with your American team—but the results aren’t quite what you expected. You’re hiring for your U.S. location and want top talent—but those résumés have you scratching your head.

Imagine if working with Americans was as smooth as you’d hoped:

With customers who stay excited and actually buy. With your team members getting the job done right and you working together seamlessly. With no more headaches finding and keeping the right people.

That's exactly what my intercultural training is for ...

.. for entrepreneurs & executives like you, because I know: American business culture is a whole different ball game. What makes you successful in your home country as an entrepreneur or executive doesn’t necessarily translate to success in the U.S.

In my intercultural training, we don’t just go through a list of do’s and don’ts that you could easily Google.

Instead, we dive deep into American culture: You’ll discover the American way of thinking and understand how it shapes consumer behavior, work styles, and business practices. You’ll finally get what makes Americans tick and learn how to make the American way work for you, so your business can thrive.

1-day 1:1 intercultural training for entrepreneurs & executives

This training is tailored specifically to your professional role, cultural knowledge, and questions, and consists of three modules:

Module 1:
You’ll dive into American values and see through relevant examples how these beliefs shape American business, work, and company culture. You’ll also learn how these values impact product expectations and buying behavior.

Module 2:
Get to know the American communication style. Through real-world examples, you’ll learn how to interpret American statements correctly and communicate in a way that resonates with Americans. This includes situations such as giving feedback to team members, addressing problems with business partners, navigating small talk, and mastering sales conversations in customer meetings.

Module 3:
This module is all about you and your goals. Whether it’s leading American employees with confidence, planning projects the American way, hosting meetings like a pro, creating impactful presentations, or building a qualified local team for your U.S. location—we cover it all.

This in-person or virtual training lasts 8 hours. Virtual training can be split into up to four sessions.

MEGA BONUS INCLUDED:
1:1 coaching after the training. Many questions pop up once you’re in the thick of things. In a 30-minute coaching session, we’ll tackle any cultural challenges you’re facing in the months following the training.

I wasn’t a fan of chalk-and-talk lessons back in school, and I’m definitely not about to put anyone through that now. In my interactive training, we reflect, work together to find answers, and  practice new skills—no dusty chalkboards in sight!

Expert

I bring a wealth of knowledge: In over 20 years living and working across different regions of the U.S., I’m well-versed in the ins and outs of American culture. No matter where your team, customers, or business partners are located, I’ve got the answers to most questions and plenty of great tips to share.

Heartfelt

As an entrepreneur in the U.S. myself, I’ve been there. That’s why I’m so passionate about giving you a shortcut to help you hit the ground running and feel ready to tackle the U.S. business world with confidence!

Still have questions?

For anyone leading American team members, working with American business partners, or doing business in the U.S. market as an entrepreneur.

The training focuses on the (inter)cultural aspects of U.S. business. It does not cover legal or business topics such as market research, finance, logistics, etc.

Yes. During the intro call and questionnaire, I ask about any specific topics the participant would like to address. However, the first part of the training, focusing on American culture, is essential for many other topics and should not be skipped.

Since the intercultural training for entrepreneurs and executives focuses on business aspects, the relocation training for expat assignees might be a better fit for you. I’d be happy to discuss the best option for you in a free intro call.

Why my experience makes a difference

# I’ve been living in various states and regions of the U.S. for over 20 years, so I’ve got the inside scoop on not just the culture, but also the quirky regional differences across this huge country.

# I’ve worked in companies of different sizes and industries, and I’ve seen firsthand what happens when cultural differences aren’t managed properly.

# I’ve been in your shoes—I’ve made the leap from my native Germany to the U.S. myself, so I know exactly how to navigate both the little and big cultural differences.

# As a certified translator, intercultural trainer, and former Corporate Communications Manager, I’ve got the tools to help you communicate effectively with Americans.

# Seven years ago, I built my own business here in the U.S. and have been working successfully with both American and international clients ever since.

# For the past 3 years, I’ve been helping executives and employees from international companies successfully tackle the U.S. business world through my intercultural training.
